Verde Biomes Overview
Garden, beach, and snow — the three climates of Dewdrop Valley.
Verde’s store copy and launch press promise three distinct biomes, each with its own buildings, mechanics, and look. After the August 12, 2026 Steam release, achievements and campaign text make the trio concrete: a starter garden, a tropical beach, and a snow region. This reference page explains how those climates feel in play and which wiki pages to open when the ground type changes under your cursor.
Unlock flow lives on Unlock Regions. Geography lives on Dewdrop Valley Map. Construction order lives on Biome Buildings.
Starter garden biome
This is the Mage Academy gardening-club backyard: dirt plots, classic water distributors, markets, flower shops, fountains, and the first Seedlet streets. Achievements Green Thumb (Main Quest 1-4) and the Builder / Garden questlines belong here. Learn the heat map before you ever buy shoreline. Getting Started and How to Play are written for this climate.
Garden rules you should memorize:
- Water is the first hard lock.
- Nutrition, goods, social, and decoration still matter.
- Land plus-icons closest to your plaza are usually still garden tiles.
- Customization presets you save here become the “home town” look in screenshots.
Tropical beach biome
Unlock is celebrated by A Sunny Day; the beach campaign beat is A Day at the Beach (Main Quest 2-4). The Surfer and Fisherman questlines flavor the shore. Demo players already met cooling: misting fans keep houses and shops comfortable when the tile type turns sandy. Water distributors do not replace fans.
Beach habits:
- Pan the map border; tropic parcels are not always next to your first fountain.
- Place fans, then a tiny cooled housing test, then shoreline specials such as ice-cream style shops.
- Duplicate cafes and markets instead of stretching garden services across a long bridge.
- Budget Leaves for cooling before a boardwalk decorating spree.
If beach homes stay red, read Seedlets Care with the cooling layer enabled on the heat map.
Snow region biome
Unlock is Snow Warning; the snow campaign beat is Winter Wonderland (Main Quest 3-4). Flavor questlines include Ice and Snow and Winter Wonders. Press coverage of the full game notes that snowy areas ask for comfort structures in addition to water — the same design pattern as beach fans, with a colder art pass. Treat every new icon on a snow house panel as mandatory utility until the heat map cools.
Snow habits:
- Do not carpet-build starter cottages on snow tiles.
- Finish beach stability so Leaf income can pay for a second climate kit.
- Watch for Special-category winter buildings; Specialty Collector wants the full Special set in story mode.
- Photo-mode borders often unlock as you complete winter quests — grab Achievements if you care about Border Connoisseur.
Shared rules across all three biomes
Verde never becomes a disaster sim. Needs stay readable: water plus local comfort plus the four lifestyle layers. Seedlets still wander through objects, so pathing is aesthetic more than traffic engineering. Campaign quests gate parcels; sandbox lets you experiment once you own the kit. Patch 1.0.2 did not add a biome; it only made tutorial steps clickable so the garden-to-beach jump is easier to parse. See Patch Notes.
Suggested expansion order
- Stabilize a green garden district.
- Unlock and settle a small beach cluster with fans.
- Only then open snow, copying the same “utility first, houses second” kit.
- Decorate seams between biomes for screenshots instead of merging them into one muddy climate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many biomes does Verde have?
Three: the starter garden, the tropical beach, and the snow region.
Do beach and snow replace water?
No. Cooling or winter comfort tools stack on top of water distributors.
Can I open snow before the beach?
Campaign achievements imply a garden then beach then snow spine. Sandbox may relax pacing after you own the kits.
Did patch 1.0.2 add a biome?
No. It added language select, clickable tutorial steps, and a gazebo fix.
